Secondary Curriculum based programmes
These programmes use outdoor education to gain nationally accredited outcomes (Progress 8). They are great opportunity for learning outside of the classroom. Students are provided with the opportunity to develop skills in an outdoor context and attain qualifications and accreditations e.g. GCSE, BTEC, Foundation Learning and National Governing Body Awards.
Primary / Secondary & Community Curriculum based programmes
Primary schools meeting the National Curriculum Outdoor & Adventurous Activities programme of study in an environment outside of school gates. Pupils would develop their OAA specific skills and have opportunities to develop leadership, resilience, overcoming Challenges, Teamwork and an understanding of the local community.
Plus achieving National Governing Body Awards Qualification e.g. BC Paddle Power Scheme, RYA Youth Sailing Scheme.
Extended / Enrichment Curriculum
These programmes usually use Outdoor & Adventurous Activities as a tool to develop personal, social and emotional skills, delivered outside the school day, through either an individual outdoor sport or taster sessions covering a range of outdoor activities.
As in our curriculum based programme, the extended/enrichment programme also offers children and young people opportunities to gain qualifications and accreditations through learning outside the classroom within individual areas e.g. BC Awards, Duke of Edinburgh and RYA Junior Scheme.
Engage is a programme structured to give students who are emotionally vulnerable or have emotional and behavioural difficulties the opportunity to develop a range of life, social and educational skills that they may not have learnt in mainstream education.
